Our family works in the electrical industry, and growing up we helped them with their takeoffs. We counted fixtures sheet by sheet, measured linear runs by hand, and flipped back and forth to the fixture schedule to figure out what each tag actually meant.
Lighting was the worst of it, and the rest of the process wasn’t much better. The work was slow, repetitive and easy to get wrong, and the tools available didn’t make it much easier.
So we left college to build Bidflow: the software we wished we’d had, built around how estimators actually work, so teams can bid more work with less of the grind.
We design around how takeoffs are actually done, because we’ve done them ourselves.
The repetitive work belongs to software. The judgment, and the final number, belong to the estimator.
Drawings are never shared, and they’re used to improve our models only with your permission.
Lighting is the most tedious part of the electrical takeoff: linear runs, schedules, emergency components and remote drivers on every set. LuxTakeoff takes that work off the estimator’s plate so they can turn more bids.
